Requirements¶
Your computer¶
ROMKADE Manager runs with Docker on macOS, Windows and Linux, on Intel/AMD and ARM processors (Apple Silicon included). It is the recommended installation, identical on the three systems.

Nothing else to install: the search engine (Typesense) comes with it.
Installing from the source code (macOS)
On macOS, ROMKADE Manager can also run without Docker, from the source code, with Python 3.13 from python.org. This is the method for contributors, and the only one that offers access from a phone. See Installation from the source code.
Your console¶
- A firmware listed in Supported consoles. The Anbernic firmware with Stock OS Mod is the one tested on a real console.
- SSH turned on in the console's settings, with its user name and password (or an SSH key).
- The console's IP address, shown in its Wi-Fi settings.
Your network¶
The console and the computer must be on the same local network. Guest Wi-Fi networks and some mesh or business networks isolate devices from each other: if the console never answers, see Troubleshooting.
Keep the same IP address
The console's address can change after your router restarts. Reserving its address in your router's settings (DHCP reservation) avoids having to update it in ROMKADE Manager.
