Controllers and Bluetooth

Controllers

The Controllers page chooses which controller each player uses in games: the console's buttons or a USB or Bluetooth controller. Player 1 plays alone; the others are for multiplayer games.

  • Pick a controller for a player: it swaps with the player who had it.
  • Use the console buttons puts the console's buttons back on player 1. Use it when the console no longer responds in game because player 1 was left on a controller that is not plugged in anymore.
  • If no game is running, the change applies right away. During a game it applies at the next launch from ROMKADE Manager; Restart the game to apply quits cleanly (with its automatic save) and resumes it.

Bluetooth

The Bluetooth page manages the controllers, speakers and headphones connected to the console.

  1. Put the device in pairing mode.
  2. Click Search for devices (12 seconds).
  3. Click Pair and connect next to it in Devices in range.

Then, in My devices: Connect, Disconnect, Forget this device.

Game sound on a speaker or headphones

Once a speaker is connected, click Send game sound here. RetroArch game sound goes to it from the next game launched from ROMKADE Manager. Send sound back to the console returns to the speakers. The console's own menu keeps using its speakers.

Good to know

  • Recent controllers (Xbox, 8BitDo…) only pair during an active search: put them in pairing mode, search, then pair. If a paired controller does not respond, wake it up (Xbox or Home button) and click Connect again.
  • After a restart, the Anbernic firmware erases pairings: pair your devices again from this page.
  • To use a Bluetooth controller in game, connect it here first; it then shows up on the Controllers page.
