Playing on the console¶
From a game's page, Play on the console launches the game on the console. What is available depends on the firmware: see the capability list in Settings → System and Supported consoles.
Launch and quit¶
- Play on the console closes the console's menu (or the running game, with its automatic save) and launches the game. The menu comes back when you quit the game.
- If a controller is plugged in on top of the console's buttons, the app first asks Who is playing?: your choice becomes player 1.
- The console panel in the sidebar shows the running game and offers Quit game.
- On the Dashboard, Recently played lets you relaunch a game with ▶.
Android consoles (Retroid, AYN…): quit the game on the console
On Android, ROMKADE Manager launches the game but cannot quit it: RetroArch for Android cannot be controlled remotely. Quit the game from RetroArch's menu, on the console. The running game, Save now and play time are not available either. See Supported consoles.
Resume from a save¶
On the Saves page and on a game's page, each save has a button:
- Resume here (RetroArch save state): launches the game, then loads that slot as soon as the game is running.
- Play (in-game save): launches the game, which loads its own save.
Save now¶
While a RetroArch game is running, Save now on the dashboard records a save state of the game in progress.
Volume¶
While a game is running, the top bar, the dashboard's Now playing on the console block and the game's page offer mute and a volume slider. It works for the console's speakers and for a Bluetooth speaker.
Games launched from the console's menu
The volume slider and the per-player controller choice apply to games launched from ROMKADE Manager. For a game launched from the console's own menu, only mute works.
Console clock¶
The console has no automatic time setting. Its clock is used to date saves and RetroArch logs. Settings → System → Console date and time shows the difference with the computer and Set to the computer's time fixes it.
