Saves

The Saves page lists every save on the card, linked to its game, and the copies kept on your computer.

Where saves come from

Source Type
RetroArch In-game saves (.srm…) and save states (.state, .state1…, auto)
Stock emulator Anbernic's own emulators
DraStic (DS) Nintendo DS
PPSSPP (PSP) One folder per game
Next to the game .sav files stored beside the ROM

The exact folders depend on the firmware; ROMKADE Manager knows them for each supported system.

Copy everything to the computer

Copy all saves to the computer creates a dated copy in ROMKADE Manager's data. Each copy can be downloaded as a .zip or deleted. Do it before changing anything on the card, or regularly.

Restore or delete a save

  • Restore: puts back a save from a copy, as it was on that date.
  • Delete: removes a save from the card.

Both are refused while a game is running (the game would rewrite the file when quitting), and both first make an automatic copy, on the computer, of the file being replaced or deleted.

How to save

The How to save guide on the page shows the RetroArch shortcuts actually configured on your console (save, load, next and previous slot, quit). In short:

  • In-game save: the game saves itself, as on the original console. The file is written when you quit the game.
  • Save state: freezes the game exactly where you are, in several slots.
  • Quitting a game, from the console or with Quit game, records an automatic save state.
  • DraStic, PPSSPP and Anbernic's emulators have their own menu, opened during the game.
